I think I am gonna like this year. With Aubrie in 3rd grade, and Lyssa at school all morning, and even Bethy gone to pre-school starting in September. It should be fun. My poor sweet Lyssie came home from her first exciting day of kindergarten and fell fast asleep. She went to bed fine last night, after Dave gave all the girls their annual father's blessings, but she kept awakening in the night and by morning her nerves were frazzled and she was insistent that she was not going to school. I was still able to get her to get dressed for school so that she could "be in the picture on the porch" with Aubrie. A new ladybug watch and a french braid in her hair helped aid in the process. But she did not want to let go of my hand at school until she saw her teacher leading the kids off. I kissed her goodbye, didn't cry too much and there went my next baby off to growing up.Of course she loved it and came home with lots to tell me; a new fairy book from the school library, and excited that she already had 5 friends there and 1 new one!
Aubrie looked adorable too in her new jumper uniform and headband and she made sure I curled her hair just right. She was so sweet trying to help Lyssa not cry and offered to ask her teacher if she could meet Lyss in the hallway if she got sad, to help cheer her up. Lyss took pictures of our fam and her sis Aubrie with her for comfort, but said she didn't end up needing them. I knew she'd love kindergarten once she got there. I hope Aubriela has as good of a day. I plan to go pick up some balloons and cookies to surprise her afterschool. Oooh-my girls. I love 'em. I want them to be happy in the world and know how ausome Dave and I think they are.
