Bethany turns 9

It is so bittersweet to watch your kids get older. Bethany has always been my sweetie. She is becoming more mature and growing up right before our eyes. For her birthday party, she wanted it to be a dog theme again, she can't get enough of dogs! So we made delicious chocolate cupcakes with Scooby doo bones, and we played a fun doggy obstacle course and blindfold game. She has such cute friends too, it was lots of fun. She also got to get her ears pierced and she was brave. Love you Bethy!

Easter

Easter was fun. We started out the weekend with a hunt in our own Nolan Park, our friends the Struh's came too. The kids actually got lots of eggs! Then we spent the night at G&G Blairs and went to sacrament and Brandon's homecoming talk on Easter morning in Fruit Heights. We did an egg hunt at their house and then went to the Blairs for our last egg hunt. Our Easter bunny celebration came on Saturday morning, we try to keep it separate. It is probably confusing for the kids what that has to do with Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We all had a nice weekend. And the girls looked cute in their new Easter dresses.

Spring Break in Zion

We took a spontaneous trip down to St George for spring break this week. The girls loved swimming at the hotel and we all loved the sunshine! We got to visit my Aunt Ann and Uncle Dennis in Santa Clara. They were so hospitable, I wish I'd gotten a picture with them. We visited the St George temple the first night, it is so amazingly beautiful and peaceful there. Friday we went to Zion National Park. The girls liked riding their shuttle around, and we got off to try the Emerald Pools hike and the Riverside hike. It's a beautiful place. I liked the weeping rock we walked under and the pretty river and high sharp cliffs. Dave took us through the tunnel drive too, the girls liked that. Mayzie's solo

For our primary program in September, Mayzie was asked to sing a solo verse of Nephi's courage. We were so proud of our little 5 year old for being brave and singing her heart out to the congregation. We were glad Grandma and Grandpa Blair could come and watch as well. I was able to be on stage with her, as I was her primary teacher, so I was right behind her giving moral support.

Day at Utah Lake

Dave and Bethany and I got to spend an afternoon out on frozen Utah Lake. It's really pretty being out in the middle of the ice, surrounded by mountain landscapes. It's also really peaceful. And it was a nice day, so we didn't really get cold, till we were leaving and the wind started to blow. Bethany got to catch 5 little fishies, which she really had fun with. We petted them, Zoey kissed them, and then we sent them back on their way. Zoey was our sled dog, she got a workout pulling Beth around in the sled, but Bethany loved it. It was about a 3 mile trail for us. Dave loves ice fishing, and he has gotten to go quite a few times this winter, with friends or scouts, our girls, or his cousin Jeff. He liked using the 4 wheeler to get out on the ice much faster.

Valentines Day 2013

Valentines turned out to be a really fun day. I spent the morning putting heart braids in my girls hair. Then I got to go assist in Bethany's 3rd grade class party. She is a sweetie, and she made a really cute valentine bag. I also got to visit Mayzie and Alyssa's class party. They all had fun. Alyssa made a cute gumball machine for her box. Alyssa also woke up at 4:30 am to heart attack our bedroom door. She had written on each heart a love note to us. Such a sweetie! We didn't see them till later in the morning. Beth and I got crafty and made a panda bear box (Thanks GTUtah)which she used as a template for her own creation during her class :) and Mayzie's kindergarten teacher also used the GTU idea to make cute owl boxes for all the kindergarteners (Whoo's your Valentine?) We took the whole family out to an early dinner. It was free as we had a gift certificate to Sean's BBQ, so that was nice. Then we came home for a dessert party with our good friends the Struhs's. We had yummy cheesecake, and cookies and rice Krispie treats and root beer floats. Sugar overload. But we are lucky to have such nice friends. I feel blessed to have my family that I love around me.

Alyssa turns 11

Alyssa is such a fun girl to have in our family. She is a big helper and a great student, and fun to hang out with. This girl sure loves babies. She has had fun starting to babysit in the neighborhood. For her 11th bday party she wanted an 80's theme, so we played Twister and Fruit Basket and Just Dance and got a "Cake Boss" neon green and pink cake. She had a blast!

Halloween

Trying to catch up on pictures and posts as I find them. So Halloween was a while ago, but we had too much fun to not post about it. Mayzie had multiple costumes this year, so she was a cheerleader, and a witch. Beth was a spider, Lyss was a witch and Aubrie was Supergirl. I am a room mom for Mayzie's kindergarten this year, and so I got to do the craft table. It was really fun to work with the kids. They are so cute. Dave and I took turns taking the kids trick or treating, and answering the door. We had so many kids come we ran out of candy. Aubrie made a cool "spook alley" in the front yard with some neighbor kids. Fun night!

Grandma's halloween party was going to a nearby farm. The kids all got to ride a horse and see different farm animals up close. Some kids were scared a little, but they all had fun, and the hayride was fun too. Thanks Grandma Blair

Also went to the Johnstuns for some Halloween photos and food. We also celebrated Alyssa's bday since they will be gone on their mission by then!
