Labor Day at the Cabin

Ok, so we ended up having so much fun at the cabin, it was worth the horrible drive in. And luckily the drive out on the Bountiful peak side was so much easier. Go figure.
The girls really liked 4 wheeling. A lot. They are trying to talk Dave into buying one now, and we do have some convenient hills behind our house...
Dave took me into some really pretty areas, where he had elk hunted last fall. We hiked up to a beautiful spot. We had lots of fun, before we knew it, 2+ hours had passed. I had fun driving us back to the cabin. It is really pretty and peaceful up there.
The girls loved sleeping over with Grandma and Grandpa Blair. We did a campfire and Zoey loved being up there. Thanks for having us and thanks to Carl and Marilyn for letting us all visit your cabin :)

Mayzie's first day of Pretty school

I like that she still calls her preschool "pretty school." She has been so excited. For weeks. She was so excited to pick out her clothes and get her hair done, and get her back pack ready, and ride her bike to school. She has a super nice teacher and we are excited! 3 days a week! I exercised and cleaned and the time went by so fast. I missed her a little too. I sure love my little princess/buddy Mayzie; she is growing up so fast.

The boat is revived!

Thanks to Grampa Blair, and David, we finally got to have a boating day this summer! It was a perfect, beautiful blue-sky day! Calm waters on Utah Lake. We sent the bigger kids off to school and then Mayzie and I joined the guys for a day on the boat. We had lunch and relaxed and read and fished and one of us even got a nice long nap :) The guys caught at least 5 white bass. Mayzie really liked "driving" the boat with daddy.

It's not over till it's over!

Yes, the kids are back in school. But that doesn't mean summer fun is all done. We've still had lots to do...
Since we live close to Thanksgiving Point, and it was $2 Tuesdays all of August, we went to a different venue each week. It was really fun, and surprisingly not too crowded :)
First we visited Farm Country, cute animals, pony rides and horse-driven wagon rides, and picnic. Fun times; but I think it was Abby's last year to ride on the pony rides :)

Next we went with my mom and sisters to the Gardens! They are gorgeous and the kids LOVE the Children's garden, of course!

The last week we hit the Dinosaur museum (no lines! kids were back in school!) I let Mayzie pick a special preschool friend to join us for lunch and the museum; they really enjoyed themselves. And I had fun hanging out with them!

August birthdays

August was really fun and extra hot this year. I think our weather is one month behind this year! We are experiencing July in August with 100 degree days.

Mayzie and Aubrie got their own rooms.

We celebrated Aubrie and Grandma Blair's birthdays together!

Dave took me shopping on my birthday and out to dinner with the kids. Aubrie made me a yummy chocolate cake, all by herself :) And I got beautiful red roses and a nook for our Anniversary from Dave. (14 years!) August was pretty awesome.
