Shout out

3 school girls with all A's on their report cards this last term makes for a happy momma too. I am really proud of them for working so hard, and I hope they are proud of themselves too! Now I gotta pay up, I guess :)

Alyssa has been working extra hard, and just finished 6th grade math with an A on her final exam, did great at the spelling bee and did a great job on her science fair project. (She and her partner found out Tide cleans the best for ketchup stains on a white shirt)

Love to see the kids work hard and do well!

Mayzie's new accessory

Mayzie decided to take a flying leap out of our computer chair last night, and landed on her left arm. She called out for me, asking for help to get up. She couldn't move her arm and wouldn't stop crying; I knew something was really wrong. We talked to the doctor and decided to not make her go into the ER, as it was afterhours. So we wrapped it and iced it ourselves. We took her into our nearby doctor today, with our fingers crossed it wasn't broken.

She bravely faced her X-rays, and they ended up finding a small buckled fracture below her elbow. Needless to say I was not happy at all.
I was really proud of my little 4 yr old for facing her fear. She had been adamant all day that she was not going to the doctor to fix her arm, so I didn't know what to expect from her once we got there; she cried, but she was cooperative. The doctor did a good job, talking kindly and respectfully with Mayzie to keep her calm. David and I stayed by her side while she got to pick a red cast and have it set right there in the same office; we were out of there really fast. She held so still the doctor let her pick 3 prizes :)

So my babygirl is in a cast for the next 3 weeks and she is counting down the days till it's off!

Christmas and New Year's

The holidays were so fun this year, the kids make it so worth it. I loved listening to Mayzie belt out Christmas carols all day long, and letting the girls stay in their pajamas and play the wii all day. Dave got to have a lot of hometime as well. Yes the kids got on eachother's nerves with so much togetherness, but we made it through and made some fun memories at home and with our families.
Santa came a day early at our house, and the kids got to stay home and play all Saturday with their toys. They got scooters, a Thomas train playtent, MP3 player, dolls and bunnies and penguins, (all stuffed) from Santa.
We had fun going to church on Sunday, then visiting both our families. The kids love sleeping over in Kaysville, and spending time with their grandparents and cousins.
I also liked that they are starting to understand the real Christmas story more and more. They got to be in 2 nativity scenes, they were fun to watch. I feel blessed to be a mom to my 4 girls. I feel blessed to have a testimony of Heavenly Father. I am grateful for the Savior's gift to us.
We are now looking forward to a great 2012.
